This scheme can support training, shadowing and initial collaboration meetings across the network.
Early career development opportunities and training
Junior Investigator Network Group
This group connects early-career researchers across all areas of translational research within the network. It offers a supportive peer network focused on career development, training, and collaboration.

Training the Next Generation event
Our annual Training the Next Generation event, exclusively for JING members nominated by their experimental cancer medicine centre lead, provides practical tools and guidance for junior investigators aspiring to lead their own translational cancer research studies.

Training and funding opportunities
There are also a variety of relevant training, funding and other support opportunities available for early-career researchers. These are offered through our core funders and other sources.
Research operations and delivery
Translational Research Forum
This group brings together clinicians and researchers to discuss scientific ideas, collaborate on trial design and accelerate innovative translational research.
Trial Operational Delivery Forum
Our Trial Operational Delivery Forum brings together operational teams from both adult and paediatric across the network to share learnings and solutions to optimise trial delivery and inform national initiatives.
Research Nurses Network Group
Our Research Nurses Group facilitates knowledge sharing and promotes collaboration between nurses working within experimental cancer research across the network.
Cancer prevention and haematology
UK Therapeutic Cancer Prevention Network Group (UKTCPN)
UKTCPN brings together scientists, clinicians, epidemiologists, statisticians and specialists in primary care, diet and nutrition to advance cancer chemoprevention research through collaboration and shared expertise.
Haematology Network Group
This group brings together a range of stakeholders with specialist interests in early phase haematology trial opportunities. It drives collaborative clinical and translational research, engaging partners in the pharmaceutical industry.
Specialist support
Teenage and Young Adults Group
This group brings together stakeholders with a shared interest in improving care, research, and clinical trial access for teenagers and young adults (TYA) with cancer. It provides a collaborative space for clinicians, researchers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals working in or interested in early phase TYA cancer care.
Teenage and Young Adults Advisory Group
Our TYA advisory group is made up of TYA cancer specialists from various disease-specific multidisciplinary teams. The group provides an online forum to discuss complex cases with expert clinicians in real time, identify suitable trials and explore the most appropriate treatment or trial referral pathways.
