Directory of expertise
Connect with our UK-wide network of researchers and clinicians to access expertise in early-phase clinical research and translational science.
What is the experimental cancer medicine centres (ECMC) directory of expertise?

Our directory of expertise connects researchers, industry partners and other organisations with relevant expertise from across the network.
The directory includes more than 100 discovery scientists, translational researchers and clinicians based at our adult and paediatric centres.
It captures information about their expertise and research interests.
What expertise is included?
The directory covers a broad range of areas relevant to experimental cancer medicine, including:
research interests and areas of scientific expertise
disease specialties within oncology
treatment modalities and therapeutic approaches
early-phase clinical trial expertise
translational research
biomarkers and molecular profiling
immunology and immunotherapy
cell and gene therapies
assays and specialist laboratory techniques
pre-clinical models and platforms
other specialist capabilities relevant to cancer drug development and translational research
This information helps our programme office identify experts across the network who can support specific research questions, projects, clinical development programmes or other collaboration opportunities.
How can I access the directory?
If you’re looking for particular expertise within the network, please complete our access request form.
The form will ask you to provide information about your organisation, project or opportunity and the type of expertise you are looking for.
Submit your request via the formWhat happens after I submit a request?
Once we receive your request, the programme office will review your requirements and search the directory for relevant expertise. If we identify people who match your requirements, we will contact them to see if they are interested in the opportunity.
We will let you know within 10 working days whether we have found relevant individuals who would like to discuss the opportunity further.
Where appropriate, we can then help facilitate engagement, including:
introductions by email
connecting you with relevant investigators or research teams
arranging discussions or meetings with investigators when expertise from several areas would be valuable
We'll identify the most relevant expertise from across the network based on the information you provide. However, submitting a request does not guarantee that a suitable match will be available.
Who can use the directory?
We welcome requests from UK-based and international academic researchers, industry and biotechnology partners, research organisations and colleagues at our member centres.
Requests may involve a specific research question, clinical development programme, or finding potential collaborators or investigators.
We can help connect you with scientific, translational or clinical expertise to support the development and delivery of experimental cancer medicine research.
Can you include me in the directory?
We're always interested in adding new expert members from within the ECMC network. If you’re based at one of our centres, you can register your expertise through the form below.
