Barts adult centre
This centre is one of the UK’s largest and most academically productive cancer centres, combining an academically-led trials unit and a cancer research delivery group.
Centre overview
Our Barts adult experimental cancer medicine centre (ECMC) leads internationally in drug development, with a particular interest in immunotherapy, antibody-drug conjugates and biomarker research.
The centre has a particular focus on improving equity of access to clinical trials. Covering around 2.5m people in north east London, it serves one of the most diverse populations in the UK, as well as receiving referrals nationally.
The team includes an academically led trials team that develops and manages investigator-led and academically sponsored clinical trials, alongside a cancer research delivery group that is responsible for the recruitment and clinical management of Barts Health NHS.
