Cambridge adult centre
This centre’s mission is to champion research excellence in experimental cancer medicine for patient benefit.
Centre overview
Our Cambridge adult experimental cancer medicine centre (ECMC) focuses on an integrated approach to the study of cancer, working with both the Mark Foundation Institute for Integrated Cancer Medicine and the University of Cambridge's Early Detection Institute.
The centre has a track record of delivering globally competitive translational research and impactful clinical biomarkers and diagnostic devices, with expertise in early phase trials using novel designs.
Their strategy focuses on:
early cancer innovations for risk prediction, detection and interception with minimally invasive technologies
personalised cancer medicine by accelerating access to genomic profiling and innovative trial designs
innovative cancer imaging, inventing probes, tracers and methods to diagnose, monitor and treat cancer more effectively
maximise big data use by integrating multimodal data streams
early collaboration with patient and public involvement representatives, academic and industry partners, to deliver novel therapeutics and technologies
There is also a paediatric centre in Cambridge.
