Cardiff ECMC's work to support COVID efforts

Staff at Cardiff's ECMC have been transferring their talents to help tackle the pandemic, engaging in the rapid set-up and recruitment to COVID-related studies. This has required a big cooperative effort by trials staff and R&D departments and is now bearing fruit with the RECOVERY trial which has recruited over 180 patients in Cardiff. The Centre for Trials Research has been actively supporting the opening of Abertawe Bro Morganwg UHB as a major site in the Oxford vaccination study for COVID-19. The Cardiff ECMC has seconded out a full time senior trial manager to get this study up and running. In the lab, Alan Parker's team has also been contributing to efforts by working on developing COVID vaccines.
