Overview

The aim of this group is to bring together, and help develop, junior investigators across all disciplines of translational research within the ECMCs. 

Remit 
  • Establish a peer network of junior investigators from across clinical and scientific backgrounds
  • Identify and address common training, progression and development needs for junior investigators and link up with current training or schemes on offer
  • Provide career support for making the transition to become an independent researcher
  • Increase awareness of the ECMC amongst junior investigators
  • Promote collaboration amongst junior investigators with a view to building links and future collaborations between ECMCs

Scope of membership

Membership is aimed at any early career cancer researchers committed to becoming independent investigators, such clinical colleagues wishing to specialise in a cancer-relevant field and from final year of PhD onwards for non-clinical colleagues.

The Network Group aims to support junior investigators up to the point of completing their first programme or project grant. Members will be invited to join the Junior Investigators Alumni thereafter to support or mentor newer members.
